Updated: The latest Android 10 Beta 6 (Developer Preview 5) OTA update is now rolling out for OnePlus 6/6T and OnePlus 7 or 7 Pro. Google released the near final build of the Android Q Beta 5 for the Pixel series phones. The Android 10 has been available for Google phones for a couple of months now and devices have received several OTA updates ever since. The latest Android Q developer preview images are very stable as reported by several beta testers. True to its word, OnePlus has brought Android 10 to its OnePlus 6 and 6T handsets. Coming a matter of weeks after the launch of Android 10, OnePlus has released its own build as a beta.
- Oct 10, 2019 OnePlus seeded out Android 10 for the OnePlus 7, and the OnePlus 7 Pro last month. Few days ago, the Chinese smartphone maker also confirmed Android 10 release for the OnePlus 6/6T in late October 2019, while it promised Android 10 update for the OnePlus 5/5T in Q2 2020.Well, OnePlus now has started rolling out Android 10 Beta Update for the OnePlus 6T.
- The stable OxygenOS 10.0 Android 10 OTA update is now rolling out for the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T and brings all of the new features to the older devices.
The same goes for OnePlus 6 and 6T. However, it did bring a fix for the Ambient display screen where FOD won’t appear until the power button is pressed. Most likely, the known issues found in the previous update may have been fixed now. These include the reading mode not working, display mode not working and the verification window can’t pop up in WIFI anonymous connection.

Another point to make a note of is that this beta update is not as stable as the stable updates that are released Over the Air. And hence, one might come across some bugs or unusual happenings while using their device after updating it with this beta build.
Update OnePlus 6 & 6T to Oxygen OS 10 Android 10 Beta Build
Before getting into the installation guide, make sure that you have followed the below-mentioned requirements for a smooth process.
Prerequisites –
Android 10 For Oneplus 6t Downloads
- OnePlus 6 or OnePlus 6T.
- Stable and reliable Internet or WiFi connection.
- Keep in mind to have at least 60% of the charging of your battery.
- Make sure your device has at least 3GB of storage.
- Although no data will be lost while performing the below methods, be smart to have a complete backup of your device.
- Download the OTA Update beta build from the links mentioned above as per your device.
- Install Android SDK Platform Tools, or you can also go for Minimal ADB and Fastboot Tools.
Method 1. Local Upgrade Method (Without PC)
- To start with, download the latest Oxygen OS 10 full stock firmware zip from links given above.
- Move the above ROM file to the internal storage of your device.
- Place the zip file outside every folder.
- Navigate to Settings app> System updates> Tap on the top right settings icon > choose Local Upgrade option.
- The Local Upgrade option will search for an upgrade package.
- Once you see an upgrade package, click on it and then press the install option.
- The installation process will begin. Be patient until then.
- Your device will then automatically reboot. Note that the first reboot might take some time.

Method 2. ADB Sideload Method
- First of all, download MIUI OxygenOS 10 Beta Build Update based on the latest Android 10 for OnePlus 6 and 6T.
- Then Rename the file as as
update.zipand move it to the PC or whichever system you are using, i.e., Mac or Linux. - Make sure to have a copy of this update zip on the storage of your device or SD Card.
- Now boot your OnePlus 6 and 6T into Recovery Mode. To do so, Turn off your device and then press and hold down the Power + Volume Up buttons together.
- Connect your device to the PC.
- Open a Command prompt or a terminal window where you have installed the OTA Zip. For this, type cmd in the search bar and then press the Enter key.
- Go to the ‘Device Recovery and then select ‘Apply Updates from ADB.’
- Go to a location where you have saved the OTA Zip file on the PC. Now flash the OTA by entering the below command – remember to put the actual filename in-between ‘< >’ and also the exact name with its proper extension. Do not use ‘< >’ in the actual command.
For Mac users –
For Linux –
- Confirm your action and wait until the update is finished.
Finally, reboot your device. The Update will be installed on your device.
Method 3. For devices on Android Developer Preview
- To start with, download the latest Oxygen OS 10 full stock firmware zip from links given above.
- Move the above ROM file to the internal storage of your device.
- Place the zip file outside every folder.
- Navigate to Settings app> System updates> Tap on the top right settings icon > choose Local Upgrade option.
- The Local Upgrade option will search for an upgrade package.
- Once you see an upgrade package, click on it and then press the install option.
- The installation process will begin. Be patient until then.
- Now press the power button of your device and choose ‘Power Off’ from the menu that appears.
- Then boot your OnePlus device into Recovery Mode. To do so, just press and hold down the Volume Down and Power Button together.
- Now perform a Factory Reset in the Recovery Mode itself by moving the selection to ‘Wipe Data/ Factory Reset.’ Click the Power button to select it.
- Once that is done, restart your phone by selecting the ‘Reboot System Now’ option.
